Upon arriving Yashin, you will come across the long bar table, where you could possibly sit and watch how your sushi is made. You will spot their slogan “Without Soy Sauce“, then “but if you want to“. Yashin is not your ordinary sushi fix place, this place takes sushi to the next level, no soy sauce is served, as they believe the fish at their freshest and has their own unique taste that matches with their own toppings.

CARPACCIO & SASHIMI
Sashimi without soy sauce – 25 gbp
The Sashimi’s name already gave away what this is, Sashimi without soy sauce” meaning there will be no soy sauce coming with it. At first i was afraid and thought how am I going to eat all these types of raw fish without any soy sauce ( I am not a huge seafood fan). Despite being worried I might just throw it back up, I was forced (thank you for that!) to give it a try. I am glad I gave it a try, this was the best sashimi ever. It was the freshest and juiciest sashimi I have ever had, including ones I have had in Japan. Different type of fish came with different topping and sauce, which you can tell they gave a lot of thought into it, to match the topping or sauce matching well with the fish. Did I need the soy sauce? Not at all, i even forgot it existed!
Amakase eight – 30 gbp
The sushi was the best I have tasted in london. Again, they do not come with wasabi or soy sauce. all sushi were either brushed with soy sauce or sprinkled with of sea salt. I’ve had the best Fatty chutoro with wasabi on top, fatty tuna with truffle oil, sea bream sprinkled with roasted rice cracker dust, scallop with tomato salsa. They somehow have worked out the best toppings for each fish. The sushi were perfectly made, the rice was also perfectly cooked and seasoned with vinegar. I don’t know if I have been hallucinating, but I swear the rice melted in my mouth too. My favourite of them all was the yellowtail dried tomato and Parmesan. It was so good, we talked about it for the nest two days.
WAGYU FROM JAPAN
Japanese Wagyu Carpaccio A4/A5- 26 gbp
It looks beautiful right? It is Wagyu beef after all, beautifully presented on the plate, but it was a little disappointing compared to the Sukiyaki roll that followed. Both are beef, but the rolls melted and blown me away, this was great too, but if compared, I would choose the roll over this anytime. I would still order this next time though, probably is the best carpaccio in London.
Sukiyaki roll with red ginger – 9 gbp
Stewed beef with an egg yolk sauce
Spicy Salmon roll – 9 gbp
Eel roll – 12 gbp
The Spicy Salmon roll and the Eel roll was good too. Delicately made, the rice was perfectly cooked, fish was fresh. They were all good, but the Sukiyaki roll still beat them for a mile.
Sencha Ice Cream – 4.80
The Green tea ice cream came with fruit fruits on the side, which was very thoughtful as eating ice cream on its own can get boring. The fruits freshens up my taste bud and makes the ice cream even more smoother and creamier.
Ambience & Interior
We were seated downstairs where there were minimal tables. the setting is classy but not too pretentious. The whole mood was calm and elegant, making it very comfortable to sit back and enjoy the amazing food. The seats were black with dark brown wooden tables, with glass wine setted up in advance. Downstairs was alot more calmer than upstairs where you come in and you will see the bar table.

This is probably the best sushi place I have had in London, Yashin definitely blew me away, and I cannot stop recommending this to people. It isn’t hyped up, but needs to be. However i do like this being my secret sushi place. The wagyu beef did not beat Sushi of Shiori, however sushi and sashimi without soy sauce definitely stole my heart.
Would I go back again? YES!!!!! I can’t wait!
