Check In

There were two entrance and we could only find the side entrance which was located on googlemap.  Once again, there was no sign of parking or car park on site, so we had to walk in and ask.  they gave us a map and ask us to drive to a nearby car park, where we will receive a parking ticket and we will pay and validate at the hotel.  It was around 600 jpy for parking till 10 am the next day, after that we will need to pay hourly which wasn’t exactly an advantage. I would rather pay for a public car park.

After rolling our suitcases back to the hotel from the car park, we began to check in.  We were told we have booked a smoking room which I did not realize until we were informed. I booked the room on JAPANiCAN as they had a flash deal, then I realize why it was that cheap, because it is a smoking room.  We asked the lady at check-in if we could change back to a non smoking room.  The lady and her two other colleagues were checking on their system for a good few minutes and never got back to us, and gave us a key.  We asked does that mean non smoking room is unavailable? She replied with a short and snappy ‘yes’.  We then continued to ask if they could change our room for us tomorrow, they quickly said no rooms available tomorrow.  I know it was my fault for booking the smoking room by accident, however their customer service was appalling.  There were no ‘thank you’ or ‘sorry’ in their words, no smiles, or did they even try to help.  This has been one of the worst customer service I have had in the whole of Japan

Room are old and outdated, although very clean. My room was smoking so it really stink, even with the air purifier on 24 hours.  TV was really small and somehow every other channel was Xrated, how awkward.

Bathroom was also very small, and also quite outdated.  With bathroom amenities being in those big bottles, not too hygenic.  Towels and toothbrushes are also provided.

I didn’t enjoy my stay in Tottori Green Hotel Morris, simply because I hated the smell of the smoking room, and it wasn’t their fault.  However, the smell of the room, the tiny outdated room wasn’;t exactly the highlight of my trip especially it was my birthday.  The customer service really sucked, so thank God I was out during daytime.

Tottori Green Hotel Morris is rated number 1 on Tripadvisor, and it is probably one of the best in Tottori as it is a non touristy place.  There are 200 odd rooms and I am sure the non smoking rooms are more bearable, with that price I guess i can;t complain much.

Would I go back again? Yes, definitely
