Afternoon tea seat for two people – $398
Top tier: patisserie selection:
– Yuzu Fromage with Strawberry Foam, Raspberry Jelly & Lemon Curd
– Mint chocolate macaroon 薄荷馬卡龍
– Mango mousse on the spoon
– Madeleine 法式小蛋糕
– Opera cake
There were two pieces of each (thank god, no fighting) except there is only one of the Yuzu Fromage with Strawberry Foam, Raspberry Jelly & Lemon Curd. I loved the Canelé the most, it is rare to find it in Hong Kong, and impossible to find in an afternoon tea set. I loved caramelized crust with the tender custard center. It isn’t the best Canelé, but probably the best in town so far.
The Madeleine and Opera cake was both disappointing. The Madeleine wasn’t too sweet, but not buttery enough, was also on the dry side. The Opera cake was too sweet that I couldn’t have more than one bite of it.
The Mint chocolate macaroon was too hard, and not chewy in the center. But i do like the minty chocolate taste of it. If they could improve the texture, this would be one of my favorite.
– Warm Raisin & original scones 英式鬆餅
– Homemade jam 配果醬
– Clotted cream 英式忌廉
Two different taste of scones, with or without raisin. I love raisin scones, there are more texture to it. However the scones here are below average. they didn’t come warm, and they were bit dry, not buttery and started crumble into pieces when I was cutting into it. However their jams were perfectly made, with bits of fruits inside, not overly sweet and came in a generous portion.
– Crushed avocado, roasted red pepper & chilli jam 牛油果火箭菜沙律
– Roast beef, charred red onion & mustard mayonnaise 芥末烤牛肉
– Home smoked salmon, pickled cucumber & horseradish 自製煙燻三文魚
– Tomato salsa, pesto & shaved parmesan 蕃茄莎莎醬
– Cream puffs (Cheese)
They were all open sandwiches, only one piece of each, so you will either have to share or miss out on two of the sandwiches. I really wished there were two piece of each though so I can taste them all.
The Roast beef, charred red onion & mustard mayonnaise sandwich used sourdough bread. The roast beef sandwich was my favourite,a generous piece of roast beef, was splendid with the red onion. Too bad there was only one piece.
The Tomato salsa, pesto & shaved Parmesan came with a piece of focaccia. The sandwich was refreshing, with a good portion of salsa and pesto, adding Parmesan on top was a great combination.
Pink Rosebuds Tea
I think i made a wrong choice for this drink. The rose tea was faint and not strong enough. They frequently refilled our teas, but the second round, my tea was tasteless, it was like drinking water.
Vibe & Interior
Located in IFC, St Betty is a favorite place for business lunches and dinners, the setting is elegant and relaxing. The restaurant was spacious with high celiing, too bad with the view at that point, the building opposite was under constructions. There are many wooden tables, with big tables for groups and tables for two diners. At night, the lights are dimmed, creating a romantic atmosphere.
The only comment on the service was lack of friendliness. They were all polite and well mannered, but they all seemed very cold, no warmness, no smiles, no attentiveness. They could improve by being more approachable. Unlike Four Seasons or Ritz, they do not keep refilling your cup with tea, or refill your tea pot till you ask.
Choice of afternoon tea set for two people or champagne afternoon tea set for two.

Would I go back again? I would as it is such a great setting and a non hotel restaurant.
