A little Malaysian restaurant in Regents Street Arcade, serving authentic Malaysian food.  They have now two more other branches in Sydney.

The noodles

Two types of noodles

I can’t say this Laksa is authentic as ones I have had in Malaysia, however it is as good as the ones I have had outside Malaysia and Singapore. I can’t think of another place that does better than Sedap.  The soup was thick, rich and milky, it was simply divine.  There are two types of noodles in the bowl which is authentic as Laksa in Malaysia do serve you two types of noodles.  We got the yellow noodles with rice noodles. I liked that texture, having one noodle is so boring  and so ‘mainstream. It was slightly spicy, however it was a spiciness than you can easily tolerate especially having a Teh Terik, it can neutralise the spiciness.

I’m not a huge fan of lo meen, but these were high quality. The noodles were soft and well marinaded.  The dumplings were delicious, much better than ones in Hong Kong.  The dumpling pastry was soft and smooth like silk, the meat was well seasoned and being in bite size, eating whole bowl did not seem too overwhelming.

I liked the drinks, they came in a very big cup.  only downside was they were two sweet.

I would definitely go back to Sedap as it is so close to where I live. i was sceptical before walking into the restaurant as it looked like these average Malaysian restaurants in Hong Kong. However, the food was too good to be true and the price is really reasonable. This place is definitely one of my favourite cheap eats in Sydney.
