This was extremely refreshing as it came frozen, however there wasn’t much alcohol in it.

I was really shocked when this noodle dish came as the plate was huge, and there was so much gravy, more than usual.  Despite that fact, the noodles were delicious, lots of fresh greens cooked with the noodles.

MAIN

Massaman Curry with Chicken – 9/10

Massaman Curry with Chicken

The chicken in the massaman curry was so tender, the meat was falling off the bone.  The curry was extremely flavourful and thick which was great with rice.
Stirred Fried Thai Basil Chili and Minced Pork – 9/10

Stirred Fried Thai Basil Chili and Minced Pork has always been my favourite but it is my first time having it in Thailand.  It actually taste the same as the ones I have outside Thailand, the best thing about it was the dish was not oily at all.

This was incredible.  Panorama restaurant has definitely leveled up this traditional Thai dessert.  The sticky rice was wrapped around by a filo pastry with mangoes on the top. After ordering, the dessert came after 10-15 minutes as they had to bake the pie which came steaming hot. I love having the frozen ice cream with steaming hot pie.  It was so delicious, except it acme with the lime sauce that went terribly wrong with the dessert.

We first sat outdoor as it was a great view, however there were many bugs flying around and on the table so we sat back inside.  The restaurant (hotel) is high up on the valley, so the view was splendid even in the dark.  There was a nice cool breeze at night even though daytime temperature is at 15 degrees.   The lights were dim, high ceiling with big wooden tables, this restaurant is true Lanna style.  There were only few tables occupied, mostly people who are staying at the restaurant as it an hour away back to Chiang Mai town centre.

I really liked Panorama Restaurant, each dish was top standard, service was immaculate. the view was unbeatable, nothing more I can ask for.  However the price is much more expensive than the usual Thai restaurant.  A dish approximately cost 20- 50 bahts in Chiang Mai local restaurant, it is 4 to 5 times more here at this restaurant.  Yet still the price here is still cheap for tourist like us even with drinks.  I had an enjoyable night celebrating at this restaurant.

PS You don’t have to walk to the restaurant at the main lobby from your room, they have buggies that you can call up and they would pick or take you back to your room.

Would I go back again? Yes
