The savories were the highlight of the afternoon tea.  Lots of varieties unlike other afternoon tea where they only serve sandwiches or buns.  The Crispy pita wrapped with ibérico ham & piquillos gel was delicious, I loved the Duck pâté with crispy baguette was another of my favourite,  The baguette was freshly baked and went really well with the large jar of pate, which we couldn’t even finish.

The flower cookie

The flower cookie

The sweet pastries was not as good as the savories, however you can tell each piece was creatively made.  By the time I had finished the savories, I was rather full, and could only have a bite of each the sweet pastries.
Did you see that burger in my photo? Was you fooled and thought it was part of the savories?  The burger is a sweet burger, with a normal mini burger bun, with chocolate and the cheese was mango & passion fruit.  So creative. My favourite was the Japanese strawberry dipped in white chocolate, the strawberry was big and juicy, it also refreshed my taste buds.  The cupcake was really well made too, it was fluffy and moist!  The cookies are not mentioned on the menu, however I must mention them.  After they bring us the tea set on the mini wooden bench and table, they attentively placed the cookies around the fake grass.  as you can see the cookies are made in shape of a flower.  They were oat cookies and was really delicious as well as they made the picnic more real on the grass.

Plain and raisin scones with clotted cream & preserves

Who doesn’t crave for scones? I have been craving for some warm scones for quite a while.  I was surprised how buttery these scones were and they came warm, so satisfying.   I was so happy when I realize they gave me clotted cream (some places only provides you with fresh cream) and real fruit preserves instead of jam. How wonderful is that?  The preserves were so beautifully made, not overly sweet yet so fruity. I loved the blackcurrant preserves, went so well with the scones.  Only thing I dislike was the scones were too crumbly

A WORLD CLASS COCKTAIL

A World Class Cocktail

A World Class Cocktail

For extra 128 hkd I get a world class cocktail.  Here is the description on their menu ‘plum and peach infused bulleit rye, homemade cordial’  First sip was quite intense, after a few sips it became easier to drink, and it reminds me of sangria.

Recommendation

  • SUMMER PICNIC AFTERNOON TEA

Verdict

I loved the Picnic Afternoon Tea at Mo Bar.  It is obvious that they put so much thought into it with the design of the afternoon tea, to the visual effects and the food menu itself.  Both the savories and sweet pastries were made with high quality.  I loved how they will place the fake grass on each table to make it more like a picnic, and you even get edible flowers on the grass.  However I did notice some flaws, which was the picnic blanket wasn’t cut straight, anyhow that is minor flaw.  I loved it here, and will recommend it to my friends.
