We were slightly confused with which meat was which as they all looked the same and the waiters were confused themselves.  We were told differently each time we asked. however we all agreed that the Deckle tasted the best, it was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. We asked for Medium cooked, which i think it was just SLIGHTLY overcooked.  WE received the Rib Fillet for free as our Sirloin didn’t come.  The rib fillet was a total let down, it was dry and the meat was tough.  It didn’t even taste nice with lots of gravy, I wouldn’t order it again.  All the dry ages steaks came with a bone marrow which i loved and I think it actually taste better than the bone marrow at Hawksmoor, however it wasn’t enough to share, we all had to fight over it!
My favourite is the Ten Hour Beef Shortrib with Kimchi of course! The meat was so soft and tender, with moisture. It was delicious by itself without any sauce. the meat easily came off the bond, it’s definitely the best meat here!

SAUCES

Béarnaise – 9/10
Peppercorn – 5/10
Anchovy & Chilli Butter – didn’t get to taste it
Sausage Gravy – 8/10

The Béarnaise sauce was my favourite, it was creamy and thick unlike the one I usually have, they are watery.  I think majority of people preferred the Béarnaise sauce than the others. My second favourite must be the gravy especially on the not so good meat.  However i am slightly unhappy we had to pay for the sauces as it should come along. i wouldn’t bother with the Peppercorn sauce.

The sides were roughly around 3.5 – 4 gbp each. there were very small. One portion should be shared between 3-4 people. We had 8 people so some of us did not get to taste some of the sides. The Mac & Cheese was absolutely delicious, it was creamy and very filling. I wish we had ordered more of those too. The vegetables were fresh, excepted I hated the Green Slaw, they had lots of celery in it which i absolutely hate.

Our waiter was very generous and said all our desserts were on the house, which made us craved more for desserts!  Our waiter kindly told us his top 3 recommendations which was Elvis Presley Sandwich (with or without candied bacon) , Bourbon Sticky Toffee Pudding  and Chocolate & Popcorn sundae.  We took his advice and had a bit of each. There were amazing dessert.
The Elvis Presley Sandwich with  candied bacon is definitely not something you heard of everyday.  It is named after him as this was his favourite dessert apparently.  It is two slices of brioche, with a layer of peanut butter, banana, bacon and ice cream.  It was marvellous, you can taste the peanut butter every scoop you take in. However it melted really easily, way before we even blow out our candles.  However, i did not taste the brioche, it tasted more like crackers.
I loved my Bourbon Sticky Toffee Pudding.  Our waiter did say it was the best in England.  I can’t agree with him more, I haven’t had such a nice toffee pudding.  It wasn’t too sweet but I wish the ice cream came in a bigger scoop!

Service

Service was amazing, just because our waiter was the best. i haven’t had such good service for  along time.  As we were in a large group, they would usually be impatient. However he was really attentive, helpful and friendly.  Our sirloin did not come and we were offered the rib fillet, but we didn’t get asked, it just came.  I guess we accepted as we were really hungry.   He also offered us free desserts each which really did make our experience  a lot happier. We were all hyped up for the dessert. He was very kind to even sing us ‘Happy Birthday’which suually people will find it awkward.  When we left, he said goodbye to us and said next time we come he would make sure our sirloin would come. He couldn’t have been better, however next time I hope they know which meat is which!

I love Foxlow! The service can’t be better despite they keep getting the meat mixed up! Our waiter was an angel, he was attentive, patience, genuinely nice and very caring! He made our night rock!  The setting in there was cozy and comfortable, not like a family restaurant, it has its own class.  The food was average, except the ribs. the desserts were definitely the highlight!
