Check In

Checking in was one of the worst experience I have had in India.  As your car enters the hotel, all cars are checked by security, then you will go through security.  Your bags and yourself are checked.  Once I have completed all the security procedures, I entered the hotel, however I was not greeted or acknowledged by anyone.  The lobby was crowded, seemed more like a market than a hotel’s lobby.  The check in desk was small and hidden by the crowds.  After a good few minutes I decided to take initiative, I went to ask if this is the check in queue (it was a huge crowds), the gentlemen who serves me was rude and said yes, and told me to go and wait.  So I sat down by the sofas.  After approximately 15 minutes, he decided to come over and proceed with check in.  I found him unprofessional.  He was rather rude when he asked if we wanted the breakfast added on for a fee as our booking does not include breakfast.  We explained we did not want breakfast as we are going to the Taj Mahal in the morning.  He lectured us, saying we how we should be back to eat and not to sleep.  When we were determined not to have breakfast, he did not look  too pleased, I felt he was too pushy and impolite.

The deluxe room was spacious and comfortable, however there was so much dust in the room, has noone cleaned the room? I found bugs on the desk and around the windows, even the menu and TV controls were sticky.  Despite that, the king size bed was very comfortable and the TV worked fine with satellite TV.  The bathroom has a slight smell, but that was bearable.  There is a rain shower which worked fine, however the bathroom was very worn out, with water stains in the bedroom too.  If you need the internet then you must buy the wifi data package for a fee, which is very inconvenient if you are a traveler and only wants to dine inside the hotel as you become vulnerable at night outside on the streets

Restaurant

There are two restaurants to choose from, one is outdoor called Anise and MoMo Cafe which is a buffet style.  By the lobby is a cafe called Momo To Go and a bar, Onyx Bar which is right outside the restaurant that does not look too pleasant.

We chose to dine at Anise, click here to read more about the meal
