It is easy to drink a cup of Wiener Melange in Europe, there are many Viennese cafes in Austria and Germany of course, but this is the only one in Hong Kong. I must say I keep coming back for this cup of coffee. It is perfectly made every time I order it, never disappoints me.    Wiener Melange e is a perfectly balanced combination of milk, coffee and foam, people would describe the coffee in between a cappuccino and latte, no wonder why i adore it so much.

The Iced coffee was definitey a good pic for a hot summer day, however the it was a weak coffee, not much flavor to it.

APFLESTRUDEL

Apflestrudel is a traditional cake/dessert in Austria, simply an applestrudel.  The applestrudel is served warm with whipped cream and dusted with icing sugar. I love the thin dough, and it tasted just as good on its own.  I am not a big fan of cooked fruits, but the apple tasted heavenly with the raisins and almonds.

Tucked away in Tai On Terrace, away from the crowds and most importantly, away from the cars.  Despite walking up the long stairs can be bit of a disadvantage for unhealthy people like me, but once you arrive and sit on the outside, facing no car pollution and noise, it is worth the sweat.  Once you are at the cafe, you will feel like you have been teleported to Vienna or Europe, the cafe is just like any authentic Viennese cafe there. With antique lamps and ornaments all over the cafe, with checkered floor, dark wood around the cafe.  There are Austrian’s chocolates by the counter, if you have ever been to Austria you would have seen these famous chocolates, sometimes with Mozart printed on the wrapper.  There are homemade cakes around the counter too.

There is a door to next door accessories shop, which is quite different from other cafes in Hong Kong.  There are tables and seats outside, which is super comfortable and relaxing during Autumn, however in the summer, it is way too hot for that.

Service

Service is bit of a yo-yo.  The service on my first visit was exceptionally bad, the barrista was rude and unhelpful after we asked what is their signature coffee and information.  He seemed to be impatient and annoyed.  Second time, the service was brilliant, we were asked if we would like to sit outside or inside, and asked us to wait while they prepare our coffee. Then the nest few times, it was very unstable.
